The Underwater Panther is a powerful creature from Indigenous culture, represented as a half cougar, half dragon. It brings power to the waters it inhabits and cause storms, violent waves and whirlpools with its fury. One of the first accounts of the creature comes from the 17th century where fishermen reported capturing a lizard-like fish in Lake Superior. They believed keeping it captive would cause harm and ill will, so they released the catch. 

This belief drives the fascination with one of Beastland’s most ferocious beasts, a mythical and wild creature that is alive and untamed, unable to be held captive.
